Closet System FAQ

If you have browsed the Closets To Go site and cannot find what you’re looking for, we suggest two things. First, try going to our site map located at the bottom (footer) of our main page. In there you will find all of the links we have on our site. Second, try using our search script located at the top right of most pages. If all else fails, you can email us by going to our contact page.

All customers who wish to order a custom closet system from us online must register as a member. Membership allows us to process your order and refer to your design as we build your new closet system. If you are going through one of our designers, they will create a membership for you. Membership is free and we keep all of your information confidential. We do not sell our customer information to anyone.

If you have designed a closet system using our online closet design program, you can place your order from within the program by clicking on the "Step 4: Purchase System" button in the upper left corner of the design area.

If you are using our free full design service or you come into one of our stores in-person, our friendly design team can assist you in taking your order. You may contact us by phone or email.

Yes, Closets To Go gives discounts on orders based on the price range of the order. Orders over $1,000 receive a 15% discount. Orders over $2,000 receive a 20% discount.

Yes, we do take phone orders. If you prefer to order over the phone you can call us toll free at 1-888-312-7424 (Pacific Time)

Yes, we do sell hardware individually if you do not need an actual closet system. Give us a call or send an email to see what we can do for you.

To install your new custom closet system yourself, you will need the following tools:

• drill
• extension bit (for use with drill)
• 1/2” drill bit (for use with drill)
• 1/8” drill bit (for use with drill)
• tape measure
• stud finder
• level (1', 2', or 4' will do)
• phillips screwdriver

If you need to remove an existing closet system, these additional tools may be needed:

• crowbar / prybar
• plyers
• slot screwdriver
• hammer

Our average customer can install our custom closet systems within 2 to 5 hours. This all depends on the size of your closets and the components within your design. The installation guide is easy to read and we have pre-installed all hardware for you.

This could be caused by having JavaScript disabled or you don’t have the correct version of the Flash plugin. To check this, go to the design program page. On the bottom, click the compatibility test. This will test your system and check if you have the minimum system requirements.

Saved and exported designs are stored in our database for one year. After that time, they are removed and put in an archive database. If you need to get back an archived design, please contact our customer service and we will put it back online for you.

Yes, choosing any color not on our Color Options page will add considerable time to the filling of your order. This can be up to five weeks of lead time for your order.

If you are having trouble using our online closet designer program, you can go through our closet designer tutorial here. It requires the Flash browser plugin to view.

Yes we do offer routed drawers(raised panels). These drawer fronts are made from thermafoil. There is an additional charge for these drawer fronts.

We use 3/4" melamine as our building material. This thickness gives a material that is very light for its strength.

We use Roseburg Forest Products, Panolam, Flakeboard and other high quality products made in America.

Production lead times vary depending on capacity in the factory. Most orders will ship in 4-7 business days. Customization can take longer.

We ship your custom closet system using a LTL freight carrier. Orders will take 2-7 business days for shipping. The freight carrier will delivery to the base of your driveway.

We ship custom closet organizers, pantries, garages and offices. We also ship parts out to our customers.
 
 

If your order arrives damaged, please note this on the bill of lading. If you are able to please take pictures. You then should open all boxes as soon as possible and then contact Closets To Go with all the information regarding your damaged product. Closets To Go will ship out any damaged parts immediately.

We do ship to Canada. There are taxes, customs and partial shipping charges.

Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska are on an order by order basis. It is the customers responsibility to pay for the shipping.

Yes, everything is manufactured at our central location in Tigard, Oregon. Every closet organizer system is carefully custom-made and assembled by hand into easy-to-install modules.

Yes, every single part of our systems is adjustable, even after assembly.
