Tidy Trash
We understand that not everyone has the same taste or budget. Some desire a professional look, as others love the creative aspect of the DIY (Do-it-yourself) options. In our articles, we like to represent both sides of the coin to help you make the best choice for your needs. Happy decorating!
Recycling Fun Facts:
-
Over 75% of waste is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30% of it. (Dosomething.org)
-
Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to listen to a full album on your iPod. Recycling 100 cans, could light your bedroom for two whole weeks. (Dosomthing.org)
-
Americans throw away enough aluminum every month to rebuild our entire commercial air fleet. (benefits-of-recycling.com)
Recycling Options:
So you have made the decision to recycle but where do you keep all your recyclable goods? Storing them in the pantry, laundry room or atop of the counter can get messy and looks cluttered. A great option for clean organization is a four bin recycling station from Rev-a-Shelf. This product is made with polymer removable bins for easy cleaning, and a washable canvas bag. This system also comes with a door mounting kit. This not only keeps your recyclables separated by material type, it allows for discreet collection.
Another option by Rev-a-Shelf is the Quad Top Wood Frame Recycling Center. With four hanging bins, this too is convenient and hidden and out of sight.
Not only can we help you with your recycling needs, but we have a solution or two, for your garbage as well!
Garbage Options:
Garbage is a constant in our lives, that’s for sure. You take out the trash and a later that afternoon, the trash is again, ready to go out. According to Duke University’s Center for Sustainability and Commerce, the average person generates about 4.3 pounds of waste each day. With all that waste, no wonder a household or four is forever taking out the trash! Well, if we must have the rubbish, lets find a good way to keep in cleaned up.
One waste receptacle creation by Rev-a-Shelf is the Double Bottom Mount Rev-A-Motion™ Aluminum Waste Containers. This too, is made of polymer and the bins are removable for easy cleaning.
Along the same lines, they also offer the Double Top Mount Inset Wood Waste Containers. This is wood mounting as oppose to aluminum mounting.
DIY Option: To duplicate your own recycling receptacle, use assorted rubbish cans in various colors and label them accordingly. This will still allow you to stay organized while sticking to a budget.
